LIVING IN PARADISE

Hola Familia-

Let me just tell you, living on an island is exactly as it seems,
PARADISE ☀️ hopefully I can answer everybody's questions.

1) HOW WAS THE TRAVEL??
traveling was fun, just a little less than 2 hour airplane ride, no
biggie. The stressful part, you are only allowed one bag that weighs
less than 50 pounds, packing was STRESSFUL. I left a suitcase behind
in the mission home with all my other stuff, I accidentally left some
important stuff like my patriarchal blessing so if you could email me
a copy of it that would be great. Other than that I should have
everything I need.

2) HOW'S THE WORK?
The ward here is great ((yes they are a ward!)) they made me feel
right at home. There is about 100 people every Sunday. Our ward
mission leader is Italian and make us Italian food every Saturday😝
there are a lot of "Canarian" families. Meaning they are from here,
the Canary Islands unlike Madrid where your ward is basically South
Americans. The work here is a little different, when life is perfect
and living on an island, who needs God? Basically everybody here is
atheist and we really just relay on the members for references. But
keep the faith! We have some good people we are working with! Martin,
he is from Galicia ((close to A Coruña)) and he is dating a member so
that's how we found him. He's got that stubborn Spanish man in him. He
won't pray about the Book of Mormon because he doesn't understand it
and he won't understand it until he reads the whole thing. We try to
tell him otherwise but that's how he feels so patience and prayers.
Evelyn.. the only thing that's holding her back is fear. We met with
this mom and daughter and they are awesome, the girl is 14 and so
intelligent she asked some deep questions.

3) WHAT'S YOUR COMPANION LIKE?
Fun Facts about my companion!
-she's 4 feet 8 inches
-she was adopted from Cambodia
- she played lacrosse at SVU

4) HOW IS YOUR LIFE ON THE ISLAND???
AMAZING, I WOULD SUGGEST EVERYBODY VISIT IT ITS BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING
AND IM SO HAPPY HERE MISSIONARY LIFE IS THE BEST LIFE. the island is
kinda like a mix of Mexico and Hawaii, every where I go I can see the
ocean so that's awesome. There's a little train via that goes through
the whole city kinda like one of those things in Portland. Here in
Santa Cruz there's a matrimonio couple so double blessed. There's
cockroaches every where which is not fun and it's super hilly. This
week, as far as weather wise, I heard the weather was weird and not
normal. It was like stormy and rainy one moment and then warm the
next. I heard it's usually pretty warm. Moral of the story the work is
moving a long poco a poco but life is a dream here. There's also tons
of fun stuff to do for pday today we went to monkey park!(see photos
and vids).

I can get mail so don't stop!

TRANSFER NEWS

My time in Leganés was a blink of an eye, I'm leaving, where you ask??? Here are some clues:
1. I'm going on an airplane
2. I'm surrounded by water3. I've heard it's paradise
You guessed it, I'm going to the Canary Islands!!!! I'm going to theisland of Tenerife the area of Santa Cruz. I've heard it's the best.I'm extremely sad to be leaving Leganés but I'm beyond excited to goto the islands 🌴. It's gonna be an experience of a life time that I'mblessed to have.
My week in Leganés was honestly a great week to end. We met with Rosiand she was having doubts about this church and Gods plan for her butshe prayed about it and she said she knows that she has no doubt andthat as soon as her situation is better she'll be baptized. We metwith our new little family and it was really good but also reallyhard. Because the youngest is ten, so we tried to keep it reallysimple for him but then the grandma had taken the discussions beforeso she asked questions like why was the Book of Mormon written on goldplates? We had a lot of other fun things happen, like a family makingus some good American burgers and service projects!!! More helpingpeople move!
Anyways it was a good week, my mind is spinning this is probably allyour hear from me today because I'm getting on plane at like 3 so staytuned for my adventures next week!
Lots of love ❤️Hermana Robertson

Holaaaaa Familaaaaaa

First things first HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE ONE AN ONLY DAVIS ROBERTSON 🎉 🎈 🎁

Well this week we were put into a lot of uncomfortable situations that
I probably i can't share more about because it's "sensitive
information" but not all is lost because this is the work of the Lord
and miracles are everywhere!

Saturday was miracle day! So the other day we were going to an
appointment and we met this dad and his two kids, the mom had met with
missionaries before and they gave us their address(very rare, usually
we just get fake numbers)! And so Sunday we decided to pass by them
and it came to pass that they were home! And we talked with them the
husband isn't very creyente but the mom is. She really liked meeting
with the missionaries until she moved and lost contact with them. The
10 year old son is most creyente of all, he makes the family pray and
go to church every Sunday. They are super cool and have a bright
future!

Both us and the Elder's have an investigator who we seem to be better
friends with than missionaries, and it's hard for them to progress. So
what we did is we switched investigators with the Elders so that we
could restart with them almost and help them understand why we are
here as missionaries. And so Saturday night we met with Roxana. Roxana
knows the church is true but has fear of getting baptized. She reads
and comes to church when she can. So we did a little bit of how to
begin teaching( see preach my gospel chapter 10) with her to help her
understand why we are here. And then that transitioned into a simple
lesson about faith. We were all feeling the spirit and all in all it
was a good lesson.

It definitely was a crazy week but I'm learning from it all. Wishing
you all a wonderful week with nice weather! Love you all! ❤️

Holaaaaaa Familaaaaa

First off, proud of the bombers! That's super cool that Riley got most
blocks. Also impressive you guys got 5th seeing how they are
supporting the Justin Bieber hair.

This week was exhausting! That's when you know they are good though.
So the move we helped went with went really well. They lived on the
5th floor without an elevator. none the less the less active lady and
her husband were super grateful. Saturday at 8 o clock we get a call
from the relief society pres who asked us to help move her sister into
the same piso, another five floors without elevator. Well she is less
active too so she owes us by coming back to church. This week we also
did intercambios! I worked with hermana Snyder and it was super fun
and learned a lot from her. We went to b9 (barrio 9) which is like the
ghetto of Madrid so it was fun. This week we met with Denise and we
started teaching the plan of Salvacion and we got into a really good
discussion on our purpose in this life! Thursday morning we met with a
new girl named Dayanara! She is the cutest! She is 21 and recently
moved here from Ecuador. Her family is taking the lessons in Ecuador
and and told her to seek out the missionaries here. And some how she
ended up in our hands and she's amazingggg, she has sooo much
potential. As we were teaching her I just really felt the power of
missionary work and how missionaries in Ecuador are affecting our work
here in Spain. This is the work of the Lord!
