If at first you don't succeed, shut up. Succeed!
¡Hola Familia!
IM BEING TRANSFERRED! I can't believe it. My heart
is breaking. I do not want to leave A Coruña. But, it's the Lord's
will and I can have what I want or I can have something better. I
mean, I'm excited, just sad all at the same time. I am going to b8
(Barrio 8, the ward names in Madrid are like barrio 1-10 so like lakes
would be ward 1, candy mountain would be ward 2 if that makes sense)
good news and bad news, they meet in the church right next to the
temple(good news) and its right by the mtc too(bad news, I already
have been around there a lot and it will probably just make me miss
the mtc and HR even more!) so basically the center of Madrid. Right
now, Madrid is like +40 degrees Celsius, aka it's like 110 everyday. I
might die. I am with Hermana weever( American) who was HH's companion
in the mtc! I have yet to meet her, but have heard good things about
her! Anyways, it should be a sweaty, good time.
As for my week, it was a pretty good week! We had some service
opportunities this week. First off, one of the newly baptized lady in
our ward moved and she needed to clean up her piso. So all afternoon
Wednesday, all 6 of us missionaries in A Coruña, scraped mold off her
walls and repainted her piso. It was definitely an experience. I was
happy to help, I love serving! Also yesterday, another lady in our
ward was moving and she need help so we helped her pack up her stuff.
Yay, love service!!!! It was fun and it's always nice to do something
like totally different every once in a while!
As for the other work this week, we met this cool guy named Fernando
in the streets the other day and we met with him. He is like 60 and
he's pretty cool. We taught him the plan of Salvacion because he had
questions about all that and he was very interested. We also met this
other guy named Mario on the street one day and we met with him and
his wife this week. They are from Uruguay and super nice, they gave us
fresh squeezed orange and carrot juice, it was really good!! Maybe
Macy can drink that on her diet. Mario is open to new ideas but the
wife is Catholic and she says our religion is very beautiful, she
likes the things we teach but she's Catholic. That's something I don't
understand, people say that this gospel is beauty of and they know
it's true but they don't change.
Here's a funny more like traumatic story. don't let small children
read unless you want to explain what a prostitute is. So one time HC
and I were in a bathroom and this lady was like who are you guys what
are you doing and we were explaining and when we left HC was like that
was a prostitute, so then like a couple week later we saw her in the
street and we were like hi how are you being nice Misioneras. And then
yesterday HH and I saw her and she was like hi guess what I'm happy I
found love. And she was like do you guys have somebody to love and we
were like no and she was like that's cause you walk around looking
like nuns you gotta wear the short skirts like this and she
lifted up my skirt!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I felt violated and I think I need to
burn those garments now that a prostitute saw them.
Love you all lots!!!! Have a good week and dad have a good birthday!!!!

Saying good-bye in A Coruna

Probably already sent that one, but WE CAN DO HARD THINGS. Also when
life gets hard just remember what Jesus Christ did for you and you
will get over yourself real fast.
Querido Familia-
¿cómo estan? My first in barrio 8 has been a crazy one! So the first night Hermana weavers companion was going to the islands the next day so hermana weavers companion
(hermana Curtis) and hermana Curtis new companion stayed with us that
night and this other girl who was going to be training and didn't have
a companion so there was 5 of us in our piso!!!! It was really fun and
nice to get to know new people except we don't have air
conditioning(😐)so it was really hot😳 so we sent everybody off the
next morning and then we get a call and all the new missionaries that
were going to the north stayed with us too!! That was really fun!!
There was 3 of them also and I met the one that was going to A
Coruña!!!! That was super cool! It was another fun night and we had to
take them to the train station the next morning with all their
suitcases on the metro and that was an adventure!
So barrio 8, it's a ward which is different than my branch A Coruña.
And there is a ward before them so there was soooo many people holy
cow I was not used to that, but it's just like our church. Anyways I
had to give my testimony again, whoever came up with missionaries
bearing their testimonies when they are new is DUMB. But the ward is
super nice they gave me a nice warm welcome! Also, one of my favorite
teachers in the ccm is in barrio 8!! His name is Hermana Lopez and in
the ccm he was just such a great teacher and I learned a lot from him
but it's weird because he was my teacher. More about the work in
barrio 8, we have a 15 year old girl named Alejandra and she is
preparing for baptism!!! She is super awesome and she is sooo ready,
her testimony is so strong! We also have a lot of other investigators,
one who's house recently just started on fire, one who has cancer, one
who's husband just died, aka we are finding people who are very humble
and need help. We also have other investigators too. We also have a
lot of menos activos to work with too, we had zone training and I got
two letters!!
This week was so crazy it felt so long and I just don't know what to
write. It's very hot in Madrid, I think I will buy new sandals soon,
these ones have no support and its way too hot to wear flats. Also
think I will buy sunglasses, I want a hat but that will just be too
hot. For pday we cleaned literally all day, we cleaned everything
because this week we have interviews with president in our pisos!!!!!!
Anyways I'm doing good and drinking lots of water, HW is great we have
lots of fun and like in lessons we teach so well together. Its going
to be a great transfer!!
Lots of love!!!!!!!😘
